Not the most interesting of Screencasts but I thought I’d share anyway. I did this for a client while researching some inline processes. It is a really nice registration process and I intend to try and build a tutorial to show how you can use Flex layouts and transition effects to get that slick look and feel.

Also, I must apologise to Lee[AT]photoshop[DOT]com whoever you are … I made a huge mistake by using an email address that has a 99.99% chance of existing. Sorry about that Lee.

This morning I captured my first Screencast using Jing. Thanks to Adrian Parr for turning me onto this software.
Jing allows you to record sections of your screen and then upload them to Screencast.com or Flickr. It records still and video footage but is restricted to 5 minutes as you’ll see from my example. Some other thoughts regarding the software … I’d like to be able to choose a conventional video size (320×240 or widescreen) and then either fix the boundary or allow the window to move so it tracks my mouse. This would allow you to create smaller, optimised video clips that will run more efficiently. Anyway, enough moaning … just be happy you can Screencast!

UPDATE: I did try and embed the video here but unfortunately, despite tinkering with the object embed code to half the dimensions of the SWF and fit the video to my blog it always gets cut-off. It appears the FLV runs capture-size regardless of the SWF. So to view the cast you’ll have to visit Screencast.com. If you’re reading this Jingers, please get in touch to discuss some improvements to your player.
